Policies

All the policies for Sheriff Hutton Pre-School Playgroup were last updated in September 2011.

The following documents comprise the policies and procedures which underpin daily practice at Sheriff Hutton Pre-school Playgroup. These cover the legal requirements of the EYFS statutory framework.

All our policies and procedures are re-visited annually or updated/amended in line with current legislation and advice. A working copy of all these documents is also kept in the supervisors’ cupboard so that amendments/suggestions can be noted between annual reviews.  All policies and procedures are available to parents in summary form in the Handbook for Parents with clear signposting to full copies on the playgroup noticeboard and on the website and that they are available on request to the chairperson.

All policies and procedures are available to staff in their Staff Handbooks. Key policies and procedures also form part of the induction process. All staff and committee are involved in developing and reviewing policies and procedures. It is an expectation of the management committee that the daily working practice of all members of staff should demonstrate familiarisation with the contents and guidelines in these documents. In case of relief cover by a temporary Person-in-Charge, a copy of all policies and procedures is also kept in the daily register for easy referencing. Student volunteers on placement are given key documents at their interview and are lent a staff handbook to photocopy any other documentation they need.

A working copy of all these documents is also kept in the supervisors’ cupboard so that amendments/suggestions can be noted between annual reviews.
